The online ad segment seems to be thriving, despite the country's economic problems, with marketers projected to spend roughly $25 billion on the Web this year in the U.S. -- a 17.4% jump over 2007, according to eMarketer. The forecast for 2009, per eMarketer, calls for a 14.5% increase in total U.S. online ad spending to $28.5 billion; by 2011 marketers should push the online ad outlay past the $40 billion mark.
