Michael Dell's daughter Alexa's Twitter account has disappeared on Friday, after one of her Instagram pics was picked up by the Tumblr sensation
Rich Kids of Instagram (though it’s since been removed). Alexa shared a photo on Instagram, where she shared it to Twitter as well of her brother Zachary eating from a buffet aboard the family jet en-route to Fiji, according to
Bloomberg BusinessWeek.
Why has the picture been removed? And why is her Twitter account disappeared? It seems, it's because of privacy and security concerns.
“We don’t make any comments regarding Mr. Dell’s, or his family’s, personal activities,” a spokesperson said.
Like anyone in this day and age, we tend to have a habit of sharing our whereabouts. But Dell pays a steep price — roughly $2.7 million a year — to keep his family safe, according to the company’s
regulatory filings. And these habits could be undermining his efforts to protect his family's safety.
Alexa had long been sharing her locations and activities online, though it took the Rich Kids of Instagram nod for her father’s team to acknowledge the threat her behavior presented to the family’s safety.
So here's a social question. Should rich kids be posting their lives online? Will their activities be endangering their families? What do you think?
