Forbes — also comes with “no tenure requirement,” which means each employee in its 34,000 workforce qualifies for the benefit. Why would you want to leave Google now?
The benefits don't just stop at salary, and the surviving spouse of a deceased employee will acquire vested stock benefits, and children will receive $1,000 a month until the age of 19.
Google said it is taking this approach because it is the right thing to do, ensuring that each employee’s family is taken care of if an unforeseeable event were to occur. We think this is also a very good strategy to retain talent.
Nonetheless, it's a very noble effort.
