The Surface won't be the only Windows 8 option when it launches in October. Lenovo will be having their 10.1 inch Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 join the pack. The tablet, will be slightly thicker than an iPad at 0.39 inches, but also lighter at 1.3 pounds.
The ThinkPad Tablet 2 comes with a 1366x768 screen, 4G LTE internet, 8 megapixel front and 2 megapixel rear cams, full-size USB and HDMI ports, and the option for a digitizer and fingerprint reader.
The build quality is solid, if not entirely having that premium feel thanks to the use of port covers and a plastic shell that's not the world's most rigid. But its the lightness and slimness of the tablet that makes the annoyances bearable.
The enterprise device will support peripherals like a keyboard attachment with signature nub for cursor control, or one with a USB or Bluetooth connection. Lenovo won't specify the CPU speeds yet, but seeing that it will run on Windows 8, it's got to be packing some arsenal in it. So which would it be? A Surface? Or a ThinkPad? [
