Supersite for Windows reports that Microsoft has confirmed that the Surface will start shipping on October 26th alongside Windows 8. They reveal that a Microsoft filing with the US Security and Exchange reveals that the tablet will start shipping to customers on October 26th, which is the same day as Windows 8 is set to land. The filing reads:
"The next version of our operating system, Windows 8, will be generally available on October 26, 2012... At that time, we will begin selling the Surface, a series of Microsoft-designed and manufactured hardware devices."
