The FAA, is locking down a big chunk of the sky to fire off eye scorching UAV lasers. That's right. The U.S. government is testing a drone that can use lasers. You know, the kind in science fiction movies.

The restricted zone is reserved for drones because they will be firing targeting lasers from high altitude. Lasers with enough power that are deemed "non safe for eyes". The "Personnel working at the [targeting] range will use proper protective gear.".

The military grade lasers can extend for miles, and for the record, every laser is damaging to your eyes, even the little ones you buy that help you point out stuff in a presentation.
