After years of experimenting and hypothesizing, the UK Telegraph says that the scientists at the Large Hadron Collider will hold a press conference on July 4 to confirm the existence of the Higgs boson particle - aka the God Particle. This could be the biggest announcement, if not the discovery in the history of physics.
Rumor has it that the scientists will announce a 4 sigma level discovery, which means, they're 99.99 percent that the Higgs boson exists.
The particle is thought to be an invisible entity surrounding all things that their interactions with particles is what gives them mass, which means it holds atoms, matter, and the universe together. Theoretical physics is built around the speculation that this particle exists, but till now, hopefully, we have yet to encounter its existence with any certainty.
