A software error on the new Galaxy S III causes one system to incorrectly report how much battery power the phone is consuming. Called "Cell standby", it appears to be sucking up more power that it needs.

The phone's framework-res.apk appears to contain an incorrect value for how that power consumption is culminated and its base of 34mA is more than 10 times higher than expected, leading it to show more power being used on it than it is actually true.

Samsung has not commented on this just yet regarding these findings or if there are any plans to correct the value in a future update.
