Apple will include locational checkins with its new homemade Maps app, with no extra download needed. That's cool, except that they will allegedly use Yelp, according to Bloomberg. And we couldn't agree more that its got to be a lame choice for their maps.

Did you even know that Yelp offers Foursquare Style Checkins? No? It's ok, nobody does. And Yelp is still mainly a way to check reviews of restaurants and other businesses but not to announce your presence there.

So why chose Yelp? Sounds like a bummer to come. Perhaps we're better off downloading Google Maps after this.  [Bloomberg]
