Here's one inspiring video of how tech is enabling the disabled. For the first time ever, a paralyzed man just tweeted, using only his eyes to write the message. Tony Niclinkson suffered a stroke in 2005 and that left him completely unable to move or speak, but at the very least, he's now able to communicate.
Using the handle @TonyNicklinson, he said "Hello world, I am tony nicklinson, I have locked-in syndrome and this is my first ever tweet."
Using special software that follows the movements of his eyes on a keyboard, it converts each letter selection into text and speech. There's no cure for Tony's condition. He's currently petitioning the High Court in the UK to end his life lawfully. It's sad, but despite that, this development opens a lot of doors to paralyzed patients who too have lost the ability to communicate. This may be Tony's first tweet, but it'll definitely not be his last.
