Microsoft has been releasing small bits of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview in form of apps for testing. One of them is called People, which, acting as an OS wide social and contact tool will integrate Facebook. Twitter and Google amongst other social platforms.

The cloud based app is designed to sync details from contacts to online addresses, and let users view and interact directly with their Facebook and Twitter accounts. The app is also designed to sync with Exchange, Google and LinkedIn. It has a built in conflict management system, which attempts to collate contact data. The app will also let other apps on the OS access to its data, so the whole system can use it as a centralized contact management system.

Is the PC becoming just like a phone?
