AGA has developed a new sort of stove. Called the iTotal Control stove, it can be remotely operated from a phone or computer with an internet connection, letting users remotely turn on or off their oven. The stove will come with an active SIM card so users can turn on the oven, the burners and even specify a cooking mode using a simple text message.
Once the command is received the stove will respond with a confirmation SMS and get to work after that. Users of the stove will also have the option of logging into a website, or downloading an iOs or Android app to provide a streamlined graphical user interface for operating the iTotal Control.
But remote capabilities don't come with a cheap price tag. The stove's $15,700+ price tag and $9 monthly service fee for its GSM connection could be expensive for most. [
