Augmented reality and GPS. We've seen apps like these before. But have you seen them being combined in the front of a car's windshield? Didn't think so. Cyber Navi rigs from Pioneer will change all that, and using an add on laser, projected heads up display from Microvision will be able to show driving directions just above the road itself.
That means you don't have to look at the device that shows you the direction, without taking your attention away from the road. Buying either of the new HUD-equipped GPS units will require a deep wallet, the 2-DIN ZH99 and dual 1-DIN VH99 cost ¥300,000 and ¥320,000 ($3,770 and $4,021) respectively. Release date expected to be in July, but no known release locations just yet. Check out the video after the jump!
