Earlier today, RIM announced a partnership with TomTom and that will see the GPS outfit's HD traffic service make its way onto BlackBerry devices.

This means a handful of BlackBerry applications such as Traffic, Maps and Locate Services will now be powered by TomTom's offerings.

RIM says developers are going to have access to "mapping and traffic" for use within their own apps.
