Developers from the Human Media Lab at Queen's University in Canada have developed a cylindrical display system called the "TeleHuman" and it is capable of projecting within itself a person's full 3 dimensional figure. Video conferencing could change with this!
A total of 10 Kinect sensors are used to capture the 3D images, six on top of the TeleHuman's tubular body and four additional sensors placed at strategic vantage points around the room its housed in. While there are still some more things to work out, the TeleHuman is probably going to be so Star Wars like. Would this change the way we communicate over video? Facetime is so yesterday. [DVice]
