Don't know how to code? But want to make an app anyway? It may not be that far ahead. In fact, Apple has a new patent that reveals that it could be cooking up an authoring tool that would let you build iOS apps, even if you don't know how to code.

Learning code is time consuming and tedious, but Apple has a tool that would set you up with everything you need to build an app without any previous programming knowledge.

The tool would cater to programmers as well, to make it possible to write software for several screen sizes at the same time. And the apps created by Apple's new tool would work on the iPhone and the iPad as well as TVs and computers.

Though Apple regularly secures the rights to patents it doesn't necessarily use, it's worth pointing out that Google has had a similar tool, App Inventor, since July 2010. Would Apple use it instead this time? What do you think?
