We've been hearing a lot of Foxconn over the couple of years and there's been considerable amount of press surrounding the disconnect between Apple's uplifting brand image and the way the iOS devices are actually assembled by Chinese workers.
This video, shot by Rob Schmitz, shanghai bureau chief for American Public Media's Marketplace offers a look at the process of how an iPad is created.
The workers attach a tiny buckle to each iPad's motherboard, so that if anything goes wrong with a particular iPad, Apple can trace it back to the point of assembly. Interesting? The devices are also tested on a machine that spins the iPad round and round to ensure that their internal gyroscope works fine. Check out the video below:
