There have been plenty of iPhones and iPad prototypes we've seen unfold especially in the legal battle against Samsung. Most of them were prototypes for a reason, because they're not visually appealing. The latest one uneathed by the Verge actually looks pretty good. It kind of looks like a Nokia in some ways.

Apple revealed the prototypes yesterday that the iPhone was birthed from a 2003 research project for the iPad. The CAD rendered design shares a lot in common with the iPad 1 though there are some hard edges along the face of the prototype.
