This is the first ever photo posted to the internet, and no it's not from Facebook. The history of the picture is pretty amazing. The first thing to note is that, the first picture ever to be uploaded was also given the photoshop treatment, though, not that great, but what can we expect? It's retro and vintage!
Motherboard tracked the photo's origin down and found out that the ladies in the photo were part of a musical group called Les Horrible Cernettes, a comedy band based at the CERN laboratory in Geneva which was comprised of admin assistants and significant others of CERN scientists.
The photo was tweaked in Photoshop version one, on a color Mac and saved as a .gif before it was uploaded by Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the Internet. Read the story on Motherboard of the random picture taken 20 years ago and how it became the Internet's first ever picture.
