The pixel dense MacBook Pro with Retina Display is a beauty. But what happens when it gets stolen? Oh no! Not without a Kensington Security Slot it won't. To lock it down, it'll have some horrible plastic that comes with it.
Apparently, it's the only way, and that's the way to lock it in if you're in a company that's untrustworthy. We've heard numerous stories everywhere of how these beauties have been flicked off a person's desk.
The way the lock works is you have to add "an extremely lightweight security skin" to the base of your MBP which if you don't understand Marketingspeak means "a horrifying plastic layer gets permanently plastered on your beautiful MacBook".
The bottom piece is made of polymer and actually improves the cooling of your laptop. Which means, it's ugly but heck you'll want it.
