Here's one heart warming story that brings comics' inspiration to real life. Marvel Comics has a new character with a unique inspiration—a little boy. Anthony Smith, a four year old comic fan was born without a right ear and only partial hearing on his left. He needs the help of a hearing aid but he told his mom that he didn't want to wear one anymore because superheroes didn't have to wear any according to him.

Smith's mother emailed Marvel inquiring about characters that might have shared Anthony's struggle, and the next day, they presented him with a picture of a hero called Hawkeye, who was seen wearing a hearing aid. They also invented a new hero based on Anthony named "Blue Ear", the same moniker Anthony and his mom used for his hearing apparatus and sent him a drawing.
